There's always something going on at Crystal's tiney home nursery in Hungerford.
Whether its crafts, modelling ,outdoor play we always make sure that there is plenty to do and explore.
Child development is important as children all learn through play, talking, stories, experiences and by exploring the world around them. By having a wide variety of activities on display we give children this opportunity to expand their learning. Playing their way with the tools we provide creates self awareness, socialisation , imagination, problem solving, creativity and allows them to share their play with us
The Early Years Foundations framework
There are 7 key areas of learning and child development. These are
- Speech, language and communication- Giving children the opportunity to speak, listen and express themselves in a variety of ways
- Physical development-children are naturally very active beings. However it's important to teach them that alongside being active, a healthy diet is equally important too and why that is.
- Personal social and emotional development- Helping children to explore, acknowledge and understand their feeling and allow them to be able to express them in a healthy way. By saying it's ok to feel that way and guide them through their feelings
- Literacy- giving children the chance to listen and recognise sounds and words. To begin to make their mark and in time learn to read and write.
- Maths - Exploring the concept numbers, quantity of shapes, spaces, measurements and early problem solving.
- Expressive arts and design- Giving them the ability to express themselves through art. Whether its through creativity whether its role play, painting , modelling, building or storytelling.
- Learning about the world around us -Discovering the world around them. The places around them, the sounds the smells how the bees make the honey. where our food comes from and the importance of looking after our planet.
All these areas help build up a child's development, enhance their learning
